Our Founder
WA:IT was created by Raffaella Grisa, an advocate of mindful beauty and conscious living.
More than a brand, WA:IT is a manifestation — a personal journey shaped by her origins, her travels, and the meanings discovered along the way.
It begins with a simple, essential act: breath.
For many years, Raffaella moved between Italy and the Far East.
In Japan, she encountered not only traditions and rituals, but a different way of being — a holistic vision of life that would later become part of her own.
The name WA:IT holds this duality.
Wa — the ancient name of Japan, symbol of harmony and peace.
It — her Italian roots.
Together, they create a space in between: a pause, a moment of awareness.
WA:IT can also be read as “waiting” — an invitation to slow down, to return to oneself.

“I graduated in Management Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin and worked for over a decade between Europe and the Far East. My life was fast, structured, rational.
One day, walking in the park surrounding the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo — one of my places of harmony — something shifted.
I realized I was no longer aligned with the life I was living.
I was 47. That was my rebirth.
WA is the peace and harmony I first encountered in Japan, and later rediscovered within myself.
IT is where I come from.
WA:IT is the meeting point between these two worlds — and the space where I finally became whole.”

WA:IT is the embodiment of what I am and what I love:
the study of traditional Japanese practices and aromatherapy,
mindfulness,
sustainability in every form,
and a vision of beauty that moves from the inside out.
